TOPS
Teen Online Problem Solving

TOPS (Teen Online Problem Solving) is a project developed by Shari Wade (Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center), now also available in Italy thanks to IRCCS Medea in Bosisio Parini.

TOPS offers several online sessions aimed at stimulating the development of problem-solving skills in people with brain injuries, in order to reduce behavioral problems and promote psychological adjustment in everyday life. The sessions develop informative content and offer young people activities to carry out concretely in daily life through the support of specific strategies. The goal is to help young people deal with behavioral, emotional or organizational difficulties in an ecological context and under constant clinical supervision.

TOPS is delivered through a digital platform for remote behavioral rehabilitation. The approach is family-centered, where the participation of the adolescent together with their parents is conceived as support for improvement and includes the guidance of a therapist.

TOPS has been the subject of numerous scientific studies that have documented its effectiveness both in promoting behavioral adjustment in young people and in improving the psychological well-being of parents.

SEGE handled the redesign and development of the platform and the implementation of support activities for patients, caregivers and therapists.
